When designing and installing landscape planting beds it is imperative to consider all existing environmental conditions present on your site. Including soil conditions, sun and shade exposures, wind and water availability. Some plants require more or less sunlight, some plants require various degrees of water in the soil, and some plants have specific soil substance requirements. Other restrictions to consider are wind exposures, deer and rodents such as rabbits.
In most cases Landscapes East uses a special planting soil mix which consists of organic materials helping to maintain the health of your plantings. When creating a landscape plan it is important to include plantings that will enhance your property in all four seasons experienced here in Central New York.
Using a mix of evergreen and deciduous trees and shrubs and a nice mix of perennial flowers is critical in maintaining a pleasant visual of your property year-round.
Many of our team members have committed themselves to the CNLP (Certified Nursery and Landscape Professionals) program implemented by the New York State Nursery and Landscape Association (NYSNLA). Passing of a rigorous exam is required and certification must be renewed periodically.
